We try to resolve construction disputes in a manner that is practical from a business perspective, cost-effective and at the earliest stage possible. That may involve mediation, arbitration or other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Resolving disputes might require only a letter informing the other side of what is at issue and how it can be resolved, or it might require a trial and/or appeal. Our attorneys have been litigating construction disputes for many years. We are equally adept in the courtroom and at the negotiating table. We work with consultants whenever necessary to help our clients prevail.

David T. Arena

David T. Arena is the Principal of Arena Law Office, LLC. David began his law career with Dimonte & Lizak in 1996, becoming an equity partner in 2005, and after 23 years of practice recently left his position as equity partner to start his own law firm – Arena Law Office LLC.

David T. Arena received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Loyola University of Chicago in 1993, where he was a member of the Phi Sigma Alpha National Honor Society and recipient of the Presidential Scholarship. David received his law degree from Cleveland Marshall College of Law with honors in 1996. In 1995, David took first place in the Cleveland Marshall College of Law Moot Court Competition, where he received the Dean’s Moot Court Award for Outstanding Advocate and the Hugo Black Award for Outstanding Oralist. David participated in the 1995 ABA National Moot Court Competition, where his team was awarded Best Ohio School and Best Respondents’ Brief. In addition, David received the Cleveland Marshall Law Alumni Scholarship Award consecutively in 1995 and 1996.

David is an accomplished trial lawyer. He handles matters in state and federal court, including trial and appellate work, and represents clients in mediations and arbitrations. David’s practice focuses on business law, commercial litigation, construction law, mechanic’s liens, mortgage foreclosures, probate litigation, contract law, business formation and maintenance, municipal law – code and ordinance violations, land use and zoning, condominium law, post judgment collections and debt collection.

David has recorded a compilation of ISBA Consumer Law Videos on Mechanic’s Liens and authored two chapters for the 2014 Edition of the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education “Mechanics Liens in Illinois”.
